  1. The SSA’s staff must be shrinking where they don’t have enough mail staff. Having the claimants input their appeal into the computer system saves the staff time opening the mail and inputting it into the computer system.

When you have a high number of approval for disability, the number of applications increases. As the total number of approval decreases, the total number of applications decreases.

Once you approve a person who is not severely disabled, they are going to get their family and friends to apply.

    • People are going to tell their neighbors that the are on disability in case the SSA CDI unit comes by asking questions. They don’t want their neighbors saying that they saw them mowing the grass or moving furniture. The neighbors see the scam and they apply too.

    • They fired a ton of people in Queens NY because they can actually think and declined to do city of New York people wrong. A very nice woman was fired. The video is on YouTube. The ignorant staff member seen firing her is rationalizing us vs them mentality and it’s ok, all people walking in don’t deserve their benefits. Very sad.

  2. I am on mental disability. I learn some good stuff from the disability fraudsters. If you get caught mowing your grass, so say that they caught you on one of your good days and you can’t do it 40 hours a week.

The landscaper only cuts your grass twice a month. You can do it yourself and make the excuse about not being able to do it 40 hours.

Most people only go shopping once or twice a week, but they don’t do it every day.

You can do what everyone normally does and never worry about being busted on mental disability. Just say that you caught them on one of their good days.

    • Talking about fraudulent applications, mental disability. And I bet you never paid into the system, or very little. That’s why there’s no funds for those who are legitimately injured. Go get a job and quit draining the system.

      • The system was drained by our leaders who like to sit home in comfort while others fight useless , unnecessary wars & get killed or injured. You people biker for a few dollars that the deserving are getting or should be getting. America is the richest country on earth, yet sadly we have the worst Medical, Social Security and benefits if any. I too suffer from Chemo brain, i.e (loss of short term memory.) if someone is mowing due to lack of funds and unable to do 40 hours now, please lay off those & let them live in peace.

    • PLEASE take off your caps lock; type in lower case or regular sentence where only 1st letter of a sentence is capitalized.

it’s considered SHOUTING and very hard to read for neuro cognitive folks….thanks! 😉

  4. So much for the mind of a crook. Seems like everyone is out for a plain old handout without ever earning it. I would hate to think I pleaded mentality disorder just to keep from working my way through life. I drive several to doctor appointments who claim mental disorder. As far as I conclude the most of them just need to accept some responsibility for themselves and get on with the good life. Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.

    • Brain injuries affect reasoning skills, speech, thoughts. Sad part is SSA staff knows this and purposely ignores it. Goes ahead and denies claims. There are thousands of suicides that could have been prevented if SSA chose to do the right thing.

      • You don’t know what you’re talking about SSA employees do not make medical decisions, the State does, they do make non-medical decisions which is what this article is about if you cared to stay on topic.

        • DENIED is SSA pre written piece of paper with different headings. You never saw one, did you sir. Which ever way you go it boils down to the roote, Medical, medical & medical. Try getting a $2 RX & pay $ 655 now in just a few months.

  5. Cannot believe someone actually came on site to tell others how to defraud SSI.. No wonder there are so many people making complaints. There should be a list established, if you make the list, you are restricted from any benefits for 5 years. No appeals, no legal beagles.

  6. I would like to think that most people realize that working is the best way to live a better, more fulfilling life? For those of us who are really disabled, work is a way better option!

    • Lies, third party hired in Buffalo NY purposely “misplace” documents. You can request your file and you will see for yourself. SSA will send you a cd and in a separate piece of mail a day or 2 later will send you your password. Then when you call the Syracuse office they decline to give you the name or title of who’s speaking and their tone, David, a few women decide to say “we deal with cases of people losing their house every single day, you’re nothing special and then they giggle or laugh and then hang up. That’s the type of people who work in the Syracuse office. Any questions?

      • Now I see why you make nutty remarks, you have a history with SSA and they are so used to you bothering them with nonsense that you have become the butt of their jokes.

  7. When trump privatizes social security and his cronies have raped the system no one will need to know how to cheat the system – there won’t be any money left….

  8. What is this about. Some people would fake it to gain a claim? I am sorry yo hear that. But I have a family member who can not work and is struggling with a lot they are bi polar and we struggle with him, it’s lije walking on egg shells. But these other people can not work, they sometimes feel so bad they hide in their room. We the family pay the price. But of ourselves i see people with handicap placards that no more are handicapped and they park there and along we come no space. We have to figure how to get our mobility scooter and struggle. Then I see these people park in another place and they walk the whole store nice going dude or dudettes I can not without that scooter. In Georgia they have handicapped people who check. That placard better match name on drivers license to whatever it was issued to Johnny smart guy. Then someone will clearly not be able to get out of it.thats sad people will do that either.

  9. The sad part is everything in the blog it’s true, a lot of people are getting Social Security and SSI and then you hurt it for the people that deserve it need it to survive

    • There are a lot of people who are homeless living behind Rome train tracks as we speak who have gone down to Utica, Rome and Syracuse SSA offices and we’re denied there and they were denied Department of Social Services. These people are vulnerable. They are their with their child or children.

      • The truth is that there are a lot of people posting with horribly uninformed beliefs because for 36 years they have been trained to blame all of life’s problems on the government (by career politicians ironically) while they still rely on the government for help. Go figure.

The truth is that Congress set a high standard on what constitutes a disabling condition. A decision requires credible medical documentation. If you don’t get treatment, you have put yourself in a hole. The law also requires that you “have a condition that prevents substantial and gainful employment for jobs that exist in significant numbers in the national economy for a period of a year or a condition that will result in death.” Your Congress makes the law and likes nothing better than hiding behind the failures of any agency they deliberately underfund and cause to fail by their neglect. You vote for these jokers and then you re-elect them after your local office is closed or is down 50% of staff while demand increases and you have to wait hours for a chance to talk to someone or not get a busy signal. And then you elect a reality TV star as president to fix all this. Democracy, in order to function, properly relies on an informed electorate. Many of the folks posting here sadly may not meet that criteria. To believe that millions of the undeserving are on the rolls is profoundly false, ignorant and shameful.

        • I’ve got some pretty enlightening info for those that believe most people would rather live on SSD. I worked all my life and was diagnosed with cancer back in 09. The damage to my neck muscles from radiation causes me exquisite pain and is very disabling.

I applied for SSD in 2011 after working 2 years and finally could no longer. I was denied for 3 years. That’s 3 years without income, which is S.O.P for SSD. I almost committed suicide sveral times. When I finally got on it, it’s payout was just over $1000 of which they take $147 of for health care.

Why anyone who could work would choose to live a life with no money at all baffles me. I receive no additional help from state. No Food Stamps, No supplemental income, And I have applied but make to much money.

Please explain yourselves as to why you think this is a better option?

        • Amen brother. Everyone has an opinion too! Your comment shows that you are intelligent, logical and well-informed, unlike most who just repeat baseless gibberish they hear from others, as if they were a bunch of demented parrots. Well said!

        • I worked for the gov’t for over 30 yrs., and the last statement above – by Tom – is “profoundly false, ignorant and shameful.” You would not believe what some of the people have been coached to do in order to gain benefits. Truly disabled people don’t need to be coached, but manipulative people will use children in ways unheard of when it comes to money!

    • Sounds like anyone can get disability but the disabled. Maybe that should be the new evaluation, if you can get disability, you are scamming the system and are therefore denied, and if you are denied then you are clearly disabled.

  10. Question of the day. Do you believe the one million backlog is by design, or is it not by design. How about lost files by SSD, by design or not by design. A doctor that you pay $35 copay saying your disabled, or a $300,000 per year SSD medical expert saying your not, by design or not by design. How about out of date medical listings used for medical evaluations, to see if you are capable to do jobs that no longer exist in our economy, BY DESIGN, OR NOT BY DESIGN.

  11. My SSI benefits have been suspended cause my mail from social security was sent back; how can I reverse this suspension, and get my benefits reinstated , and expedited?

    • Hi Eric. Undelivered (or returned) mail, may cause us to suspend your benefits. A suspension of SSI eligibility for “whereabouts unknown” is proper when we cannot locate a recipient and cannot determine his or her current eligibility status. Remember that if you receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI), you must always report your change of address, directly to us. To have your SSI benefits reinstated, you will have to visit your local Social Security office and speak to one of our representatives. If you are unable to go to the office, please call our toll-free number at 1-800-772-1213 and ask a representative to assist you. Representatives are available Monday through Friday between 7a.m. and 7p.m. Thank you.

  12. I recently applied for Part B medicare. Our combined incomes are around $160,000.00. 2013 was $158,171.00 – 2014 was 163,969.00 – 2015 was $317,125. due to withdrawing 401-K money to make a purchase. 2016 income is $160,283.00 which is our true income. SSA picks 2015 income forcing us to pay double which I would not mind if that was my income each year. Also I will retire in March 2017 making our income less to pay the higher price. I feel my payment should be based on my true income and not some gotcha number. That is not fair.
