  3. Thanks so much for caring about the disabilities of others and caring so much for wounded people. If we did not have SSI or SSDI or SSA we would all be hurting Americans.
Thanks for caring so much about what happens to us.

  4. for some of us who have serious chronic diseases and cannot get disability there really isn’t anything to be HAPPY about. I have been trying for 5 years. I see so many people with disability approved and they really are ok to work and some indeed do work under table. I think SSA needs to review those on SSI and reevaluate their condition. Many got many years ago when it was easier to get. Some are on it because their parents got them approved for such things as mood or anger problem. They ride around on bikes, go to work and receive a check!!!! I worked 27 years of my life and I CANNOT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This system is VERY unfair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So no, it is not A HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. What is it going to take to eliminate the income cap on Social Security contributions. It doesn’t make sense. Not getting a cost of living raise for the past years has been a hardship.

    • The Insurance Premiums have gone up in pensions so why can’t we get at least enough to help with that. Us people that are on Social Security and Pension have already worked for this. Stop encouraging young kids to go out and have kids when they get all the help from the government for financial support, insurance, shelters, food etc. Paying young kids to me is like prostitution (Pay for doing the wrong thing) Parents seem like they don’t have time anymore to raise them right. Now a days when people go to gatherings no one communicates everyone has an IPad. Years ago people would like to go for drives or just get away from their problems. Now they take cell phones so they get calls while driving and hold up traffic and even in public places people are on cell phones while shopping and everything else. It’s not all Social Security, it’s the world and the Government. The Ten Commandments no longer exist in this world and it is really ashame. Computers are our future with all of the violence, porn, vulgarity, no security. All your personal information is shared with all of the countries. If a bank is being robbed and anything else is happening the bad guys can find out where the law is so they don’t get caught by looking on tv, Ipads,Iphone.

  6. Was a special year 4 u – a BAD YEAR 4 ME – dIDN’T GET MY SS RAISE – WONDER WHY – oH YA, U SPENT IT ON FOREIGN AID FOR NON-US CITIZENS THAT CARE LESS BOUT AMERICA INSTEAD OF GIVING IT TO A US CITIZEN WHO REALLY EARNED IT…AND U WONDER WHY I HAV NO TRUST IN POLITICIANS WHATSOEVER….

  7. what about the congress bill h.r.1314- bipartisan budget act of 2015-2016 that the congress and president sign in to law for social security on May 1,2016 that going to effect alot of baby boomer retirement money that this law is a emergency

    • Hi William. Section 831 of the Bipartisan Budget Act (BBA) of 2015 eliminates aggressive claiming loopholes related to “deemed” filing and voluntary suspension of benefits. The new law will be implemented on a prospective basis only.
Our legislative and policy staffs are diligently working with Congress to analyze the intent of the legislation and update our instructions.
      Please check back for updates.
